# When construction affects a campground

Check the named campground or loop, current reservation details and the park's official update.

Construction can close an entire campground or only certain loops. Read the named facility and the date on the notice before planning a stay. A campground restriction does not establish a whole-park closure, while an open park does not guarantee a campsite is available.

## Current examples

[Clarence Fahnestock State Park](https://parks.ny.gov/visit/state-parks/fahnestock-state-park-clarence-fahnestock) says its campground is closed for the 2026 season while a new bathhouse is built. Plan other overnight lodging for that season; the notice does not close the rest of the park. At [Letchworth State Park](https://parks.ny.gov/visit/state-parks/letchworth-state-park), State Parks reports construction affecting several campground loops. Check the official update and the reservation system for the specific loop and dates you want.

## Check before reserving

Confirm the facility name, the current agency notice and the booking record for your intended nights. If a notice gives only a season or says construction is ongoing, do not infer an exact reopening date.
